Debra Cafaro became the CEO of Ventas in 1999. She was hired following her position as President of Ambassador Apartments, Inc. – a NYSE-listed apartment company. Prior, she was a practicing lawyer and an adjunct professor of real estate transactions and finance at Northwestern University Law School. Ms. Cafaro’s legal career spanned multiple associate positions, including as judicial clerk to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
