Mary Barra has served as CEO of General Motors since 2014 and was named Chair of the Board of Directors in 2016. She began her career at GM in 1980 as a co-op student in the Pontiac Motor Division, and since then, she worked her way to the top holding various engineering, functional, and operational positions. Most recently, she served as Vice President-Global Manufacturing Engineering, Vice President-Human Resources, SVP and eventually, Executive Vice President-Global Product Development.
